Why did you choose to join the MSMVCD Board of Trustees? / Why is the mission of mosquito and vector control important to you?

Public health and the environment has always been a passion of mine.  I also value civic engagement and was looking for an opportunity to become more involved in my community.  Participating on the MSMVCD Board of Trustees seemed like the perfect fit!

What is your relevant expertise?

In my current position I’m familiar with the practical application of vector control methods as there are several open-air recycled water holding ponds at water reclamation facility in Windsor where I work.  I have a background in Biology and Public Administration and am familiar with local government procedures.

Educational/Professional background:

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Masters in Public Administration, both from Sonoma State University.  I have been employed in the water and wastewater sector for 16 years and have worked for the Town of Windsor as an Environmental Program Manager for the last 7 years.  In my current role I over see environmental programs for potable water, wastewater, recycled water, biosolids and storm water.

List of other city/town/county boards or committees you serve on:

  • California Water Environment Association.
  • Chair for the Advisory Committee for the Water and Wastewater Program at the Santa Rosa Junior College,
  • Serves on the Board of Directors for BAYWORK (a non-profit with the mission of creating operational reliability among water and wastewater utilities

Other information you wish to share about yourself:

I have lived in Rohnert Park for almost 20 years.  I have three kids ages 10, 11 and 15.  I enjoy running, hiking and trailer camping with my husband, kids and our dog.
