Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District Welcomes Peter Bonkrude as New District Manager

Cotati, CA – The Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Peter Bonkrude as its new District Manager. With over two decades of extensive experience in mosquito control management, entomology, and vector control, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.

 Peter holds a Master of Science degree in Entomology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado-Boulder. Prior to joining the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District, Peter served as the District Manager at Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District in Anderson, CA since 2009. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional leadership by providing policy direction, managing administrative and technical operations, and spearheading software development initiatives for data collection. 

Peter's commitment to his profession extends beyond his managerial roles. He has been actively involved with the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California, where he served as president in 2020, and has contributed to various committees for both state and federal associations. Currently, Peter serves as the South Pacific Director of the American Mosquito Control Association.

His strategic vision, combined with his passion for environmental protection, positions the district for continued success in mosquito and vector control efforts.
